A number of groups have been developed within the Supporters Trust The aims of these groups is to strengthen the areas and allows the Trust to develop in specific areas.
The Fans Forum, which is seen as the social side of the Supporters Trust is one of the key groups of the Trust. We hold regular Fans Forum Meetings during the season at the Legends Suite at Oakwell. These meetings are seen as a social evening, as well as giving the members a chance to meet members of the management and players of Barnsley FC and ask questions via question and answer sessions.
Another group is the Junior section, which has developed into the Oakwel Juniors Supporters Club. We see the Juniors as the future of Barnsley and we would like to see all the Juniors around Barnsley wearing the Barnsley FC shirt with pride.
The Disabled Group is dedicatd to looking after the interests of the Disabled Supporters both at Oakwell and at away games.
The Museum Group was formed initialy by local journalist, Benny Hill with the aim of achieving a dedicated museum and archive for Barnsley FC.
The Fundraising Group is set up to look at ways in which the Trust can raise funds for various projects and local charities. One of the most successful fundraising schemes run by the Trust was the 10th Anniversary Charity game between Barnsley promotion team of 1997 and a Bradford City XI. This game was promoted and organised by the Supporters Trust in conjunction with Bradford City Supporters Trust and raised £6,500 for the Dickie Bird Foundation.
The Community Group is established to look at the Trusts involvement within the community, as we work to promote both the Trust and Barnsley FC within the community.
