The tykes target challenge is sponsored by the Supporters Trust, Trustsport and the Full House Pub and is the half time game, in which a junior Barnsley Supporter challenges a Junior from the opposition to a penalty shoot out with a difference. The aim is to get the ball through the holes (target) in the net, with the competitor achieving the highest score winning, each hole is worth a different value, depending on the difficulty of hitting the target. For the Rochdale game, the Barnsley competitor was Ashley Grist age 11 from Barnsley and the Rochdale competitor was Ewen Giles from Rochdale. no-one scored on the night but both recieved an autographed football, autographed by their respective teams. The Barnsley competitor for the forthcoming game against Crystal Palace is Ben briggs from Barnsley. The away competitor will be selected on the day of the game, when one lucky Crystal Palace supporter will be selected at random to take part.
