Barnsley FC Supporters Trust was dismayed to see that prices for the forthcoming fixture against QPR were £30.00 for adults and £20 for concessions.  We feel that these prices are excessive and are pricing ordinary supporters and families out of football.  The Trust believe that families and the junior supporters are vital to football, and we were delighted with the excellent initiatives that Barnsley FC have offered for families.  The potential price of £20 for an under 10 at QPR is the same price as an adult at Oakwell and several other clubs in the championship.

We are further amazed and disappointed to see the offer that QPR have announced for families of home supporters in one of their stands for the game against Barnsley.  A family of four can see the game in this stand for just £20.00, a saving of £80 compared to the £100 that a family of four from Barnsley will have to pay.  We cannot see any reason why this offer cannot be made available to Barnsley Supporters attending the same game. We are after all guests of QPR for the game.

We also see this as a form of discrimination and as such is against both their Clubs own charter and the Football leagues Charter on Discrimination.

We would call on QPR and the football authorities to justify this outrageous difference in pricing for this championship fixture.

We will also encourage Barnsley supporters to write and email QPR and the Football League asking them to justify this price differential and also the actual ticket prices for non family groups.
