At the request of the Full House Branch, Barnsley FC Supporters Trust arranged for John Hendrie to be a Special Guest at a Charity fund raising event. This was to take place on Monday 2nd November at the Full House. Tickets were priced at £10.00 and included Pie & Peas. This event was advertised and over 70 tickets were sold.
Unfortunately on Saturday John’s son fractured some bones in his foot when training for England as part of the current Victory Shield squad. As a result he is required to attend Manchester United’s training ground to see their specialist later today. As most parents in this position John obviously has to go with and support him in this difficult time.
That left the Full House in a difficult position and again asked for our help. Despite numerous telephone calls trying to arrange alternative guests, we were left with only 2 options:-
- To call off the event at the Full House at very short notice. This would have incurred costs and refunds.
- In consultation with Barnsley FC arrange for 2 players to go to the Full House, instead of our meeting tomorrow and cancel the Supporters’ Trust meeting.
In view of timescales and we believe our members would support our decision, members of the Board decided to go for option 2.
We apologise for this unforeseen circumstance and hope our members agree with this decision.
The Charities to benefit from the Full House Night will be
- Army Benevolent Fund
- Help For Hero’s
- Craig Wood, An 18 year Soldier from Doncaster who was seriously injured in Afghanistan.
