Barnsley FC Supporters Trust have today written to Plymouth Argyle regarding the recent abandoned game at Home Park. Whilst we are grateful to Plymouth for their offer of free admission to the re-arranged game for anyone in possession of a ticket from the original game, we are disappointed that they will not offer refunds for those who cannot make the re-arranged game.

We have asked Plymouth to re-consider this situation under their customer charter that states that for their refund policy:-
“Although each case will be considered on its merits, in general, refunds are only made in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the club”

When considering the cases of the Barnsley Supporters who cannot make the re-arranged fixture due to following.

1, It being organised for a Tuesday night, as opposed to a Saturday as per original game.

2, Due to this fact it makes it extremely difficult to make the game considering the distance and work commitments for Barnsley Supporters.

We feel these facts point to this being an exceptional circumstance as defined in their charter and as such Plymouth Argyle should give due consideration to a refund as defined in their charter.

In addition we have asked Plymouth, why considering the forecast of severe weather combined with the weather in the week proceeding the game, why no consideration was given to postponing the game on Friday, considering the risk to the fixture and thereby saving Barnsley Supporters a wasted journey in difficult weather conditions.
