Away Match Ticket Offer

With the support of the football club, we have again this season joined the Junior Supporters Away Ticket initiative. The aim of this initiative is that we are given 25 pairs (1 adult + 1 Junior) of free tickets for the away games. In return Barnsley FC will reciprocate the offer to the opposition. To date the following fixtures are ear marked for this initiative. To take advantage of this offer you must be a member of the Supporters Trust (both Junior and parent/carer). Further matches may be announced on the website
1, Queens Park Rangers, Saturday 9 th August 2008 .
2, Preston North End, Saturday 22 nd November 2008 .
3, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Saturday 13 th December 2008 .
4, Norwich City , Saturday 17 th January 2009 .
5, Sheffield United, Saturday 14 th February 2009
6, Coventry City , Saturday 7 th March 2009 .
7, Derby County , Saturday 21 st March 2009

These are the clubs who have so far agreed to be part of this scheme. Hopefully others will follow later.

There may also be the opportunity to become the Barnsley FC Mascot at these games. This is strictly limited to one mascot per game. For more details again contact Alan for more details.

The Supporters' Trust plans to run a coach to most of the away matches and would encourage you to use this facility if you live within 25 miles of Oakwell. . We hope that by doing this we will encourage a closer community within the Oakwell Juniors and ensure that the trip becomes an enjoyable and fun day out and that you meet new friends.

Detailed below are guidelines for applications and issue rules regarding these tickets, as agreed at the AGM in 2007

1, As soon as the games are known a notice will be sent out to all Juniors members via post, e-mail and placed on our website.

2, Everyone is asked to register their interest and leave e-mails or telephone numbers. From this a standard list is produced and as and when we have games coming up, An e-mail is sent out to everyone and telephone calls made asking for applications. Supporters can also register interest in the Trust Office before home games.

3, Tickets are allocated initially to those willing to travel on the Trust/Club coach. These are allocated strictly on at least one Junior to one adult.
2 nd group are those that live away and are known to travel on a regular basis.
3 rd Group are those that in some cases they cannot travel on coach due to other commitments, I.E some play for junior teams on Saturday morning and couldn't get to Oakwell in time but can get to away ground in time. These are usually games near to Barnsley .

The First of these games, at QPR on 9 th August 2008 is less than 3 weeks away. So any Supporters/Junior wanting consideration for this game, please e-mail ab77@tesco.net back As soon as possible.

Due to the timescale we will not be running a bus from Supporters' Trust but will be running in conjunction with Football Club. If you want coach travel again please let us know ASAP.

Junior Newsletters

The Oakwell Juniors have there own newsletter produced by the Trust. We are keen to encourage our Junior Supporters to write articles for the newsletter. These can be on anything related to supporting Barnsley FC or your love of football. For more details contact Owen Scrimshaw
